Description: The primary focus of Bob's approach
to Hatha Yoga is to help the student develop his or her own sense
of their body and breath by focusing on core work. All students,
from novice to adept, can learn new ways to enhance their practice
of Hatha Yoga, Pranayama and meditation. And all can be inspired
by the precision, beauty, grace and strength of Bob's own practice
as shared through these tapes.
Tape
1: Yoga for the Beginning Student
Bob relays a 40-minute Hatha
Yoga routine appropriate for those with very little yoga experience
and the tight-muscled person. On the second half of the tape, Bob shows "yoga
stretches on a chair"--many of these simple stretches can be incorporated
into one's work day. Also covered are ways to loosen one's neck.
Tape
2: Yoga for the Beginning Student, II
This tape relays two 35-minute Hatha Yoga routines, geared for the student
with limited experience but very useful for anyone. The first routine covers
hip, leg, and low back stretching and strengthening work. The second routine
focuses on the upper back and shoulder areas and leads into a couple sun salutations.
Tape
3: Yoga for the Beginning to Intermediate Student
This 75-minute routine covers the sacrum-psoas and upper back-neck connections
through the posture work of the sun and moon salutations as well as deep leg,
hip and shoulder exercises. This tape is geared for the beginning student with
some experience and is also appropriate for advanced students. The routine
could be split into two routines.
Tape
4: Yoga for the Beginning to Intermediate Student, II
This tape further develops the theme of Tape 3 using different postures. The
routine is approximately 75-minutes and provides an excellent balance between
standing poses, back arches, forward stretching asanas, twists and a couple
inverted poses. As with Tape 3, this routine can be split. Both Tape 3 and
4 finish with deep relaxation.
Tape 5: Yoga for the Intermediate Student
This is a demanding 80-minute routine that covers all the main groups of poses
or asanas: standing, inverted, one-legged balances, forward stretches and resting.
This routine for the student with a fair amount of experience. The tape begins
with a discussion of the three main bandhas of yoga.
Tape
6: Yoga for the Beginning to Intermediate Student
This tape begins with a 20-minute yoga "dance" to the heavenly
music of Sophia, and it is geared to all levels. Following the
dance is a carefully guided, seated pranayama session of about
25 minutes--also for all levels. The second half of the tape
contains a more challenging yoga dance (about 20 minutes) and
is followed by a second seated pranayama session of 20 minutes--for
all levels. This tape covers important important teachings that
can help bring your yoga practice to the next level. It is highly
recommended for all students.
Tape 7:
Yoga and Pranayama for the Intermediate Student
This tape begins with a sacred dance to the music of Sophia--it is a dance
to watch and enjoy, if not try, and covers a wonderful array of postures. Following
the dance is a 45-minute guided pranayama and meditation session. Bob carefully
leads you through a number of pranayama techniques and chakra meditation that
will help change the way to view and work with these energy centers. This segment
of the tape is for anyone who has had some experience with meditation but even
a beginning student can find this helpful. It is wonderful tape to have for
meditational wisdom and for learning the grace of Hatha Yoga.
